Testimonials

to the owners, from a customer

Hello, my name is Steve, and I live in El Paso.  I live about 25 minutes away from a Harley dealership, but I chose to drive about 1 hour and 10 minutes to your dealership.  I have purchased a bike from you guys and am writing to tell you how I feel about your dealership.

While shopping for a bike I visited multiple dealerships in IL., and decided to make my purchase from you.  I can tell you that other dealerships cannot compare to Starved Rock HD in terms of their friendliness.  I am extremely happy that I chose to do business with your dealership, and I would like to make some comments about specific personnel I dealt with.

First of all, Jim DeZarn is the reason I purchased from you.  Jim is a valuable asset to your dealership.  From the start Jim made me feel at home, and comfortable at your dealership.  Jim is VERY knowledgeable, and spent a lot of time with me when I wasn’t really sure exactly what bike I wanted.  Jim helped me make a very informed decision, and there was no pressure or any salesmen tactics trying to get me to buy something I really didn’t want.  I cannot say enough about Jim, and his people skills.

I am also very happy with Sarah in service.  Sarah is knowledgeable at her job also, and has done very well in answering all the questions I have had.  I would like to specifically thank Sarah for her involvement in getting my bike serviced by you guys as part of the purchase deal.  I do appreciate that, and see it as going the extra mile.

A thank you also to Tom the sales manager.  OK, so Thank You Tom for working with Sarah on the whole servicing the bike thing, as I said, it is appreciated, and considered going the extra mile.

Also Brittany is a very pleasant young lady, and was very helpful while I was browsing for items around the store.  Thanks Brittany.

So, to sum it up.  I am a Starved Rock HD fan, and I am passing the word (hopefully soon I will be bringing up another buddy who is now shopping).  Today I find it hard to find businesses that really care about the customers, and try to put customer service first.

THANK YOU TO ALL AT STARVED ROCK H.D.

Steve

Dear Tom,

I just wanted to drop you a note about my experience buying at your store. Everyone writes to complain or tell you the bad things. I just wanted to drop you a note about the wonderful experience I had buying my new Harley. From the first time my friend and I came in, goofing off before an appointment. Jim greeted us and was very friendly and helpful. He took us back and showed us used bikes, as that is what I was looking for. I told him about my possible trade in, and unlike others, he said he would take a look or at least help me try to sell it. We talked several times on the phone and I actually sold it myself. When I came back in, Jim talked to me about the advantages of buying new as opposed to used. You had new ones that I liked. I also told him about my credit and that it was pretty shaky. He just went to work, and way above the call of duty he worked his “butt” off and got it worked out for me.

As time would have it Jim went on vacation and when I stopped by to do some of the paperwork Julie and Tom jumped in and took care of it like I was their customer. I am a commissioned salesman and have been in the car business so I do know what could have happened. The rest of your staff was great and made sure I didn’t get ignored and that I had time to do the other things I wanted to do—buy some chrome, like a good owner is supposed to do, got to know the others too.

When I picked the bike up it was smooth and a great time. Tom made it really fun, and I enjoyed taking delivery of my new bike. When Jim got back from vacation he called me immediately to see that all was well, and asked if he could do anything else for me. I will be back next weekend to pick up what I ordered from parts. Again, I would like to thank all involved with this, and let you know what a great job your folks do. I look forward to doing business with you and have told all that I talk to about how great your store is. Thanks again!

Denny

Tom, I am so very thankful that I got the extended warranty on the Ultra that you sold me.  Yesterday, I rode it to work in Decatur and it rode fine.  Yesterday evening, when I started it, the oil pressure light was on and I has 0 psi oil pressure.  Since ------- H-D is in -------, I had it towed there.  Today, they called me to tell me that the oil pump came apart.  Parts of the pump went through the engine.  What I intend to do is to pay the difference on a Stage 2 kit to include the bottom end.  Since the warranty will pay for the labor and I will only have to pay the difference betweem OEM parts and Screamin' Eagle parts, I'll get a real good deal.  You can use this as a testimonial when you are selling a bike if you would like in trying to convince people to go with an extended warranty.  Just to replace the damaged parts, the least that everything will cost will be $2500.00, and may go higher once they get further into the engine (note: the Extended Service Plan only required a $50 deductible).  Even my camshaft and flywheel was gouged.  I have always and will always get an extended warranty.  In my case, the cost of the repairs will more than exceed the cost of the warranty.

Sincerely,

Clay

Hello Erin,

Well it's a done deal.  School is over, got my license, and Finally I got my Road Queen :-).  It has been 10 years since I owned a bike.  Prior to that I had different bikes of all makes and models including a 59 Duo H-D.  In all those years and dealing with dealerships, never have I had the enjoyment in working with a bunch of people like all of you guys at Starved Rock HD.  From that first day I came in, I was treated as if you all had known me for years.  From your conversation about the Rider's Edge school to Tom's conversation on purchasing a bike to sweet little Julie doing the deal with me, to Sue & Kathy in motorclothes, Mike and Jeff in parts, I have to say it was the BEST time I've ever had spending $20,000 on anything.

The Rider's Edge instructors Jim and Dennis were the Best.  The school was a blast.  Most fun I've had going to school since I was a kid.  To everyone at Starved Rock HD, Many Many thanks for making a long awaited dream come true.  Starved Rock HD will continue to be a great success mainly due to the Culture of your establishment thanks to Tom & Sara.  What a guy he is.  Keep up the good work.  Again, many thanks for a great experience, one that won't soon be forgotten.

P.S.  Oh yea...that bike I bought...Best Harley I've ever owned....Love my QUEEN

Many Thanks,

Jimmy

thanks to Tom & Missy

Thanks to both of you guys for all the help in getting the information we needed to license our bike in Illinois.  You have saved us a lot of time & grief.  We absolutely love the 05 FLHTCSE2 that we bought from you.  We average about 10,000 miles a year on her and she has NEVER given us a single problem.  Without a doubt it is the best bike I have ever owned.  Every year I wait for Harley to come out with something new & improved so I can trade up to a newer model.  However, nothing they have yet to come out with matches my FLHTCSE2.  If they do eventually surprise me with a better model, your dealership will be the first I call.  You guys are great.

Thanks again,

Dick

Just wanted to let u know that the sales staff and financing dept. were absolutely awesome and willing to do whatever it takes to complete the customer's satisfaction. (even staying late)!

That meant a lot to me being a Harley customer for the first time.  This shows a lot about your business.  I will definitely refer all prospects to your HD dealership!!  I don't usually email businesses about my satisfaction!  But I am STOKED!!

I've got to be the most excited man of the week.  Love to ride even more since I purchased my new 2006 VROD!!  Only words I have is thanks for making a great experience for my first time buying a Harley!!!!
